Endgame by Samuel Beckett is an Absurdist play that explores themes of existential despair, dependency, and the inevitability of death. Set in a barren, post-apocalyptic world, the play follows Hamm, a blind man unable to walk, and his dutiful servant, Clov, who is unable to sit. Hamm’s elderly, Nagg and Nell, live in trash bins nearby, reminiscing of a time passed. Through dark humor and bleak dialogue, the play examines the cyclical nature of existence, the tension between suffering and survival, and ultimately, hope(lessness).
