Description

The Dance Eclectic is bringing an original show to the Black Box Theater on February 14th and 15th, 2020. Dottie! Is set in 1920's Hollywood and loosely based on the classic story of The Wizard of Oz. Follow the adventures of Dottie Gable, who left home to move to Hollywood to become a famous actress. Along the way, she has to maneuver auditions and challenges on her journey to become famous. Original choreography by the members of The Dance Collective tell a story through genres of dance ranging from classical ballet to jazz to modern dance.
The idea for this show was decided upon by all of the members of The Dance Eclectic. The members of The Dance Eclectic began the creative process of this show by looking at the story of The Wizard of Oz. They wanted to use the 1920's to tell the story since the show will be in 2020, and began to plan the choreography around this theme. Once we planned the order, members chose pieces to choreograph that best fit their style of dance. The talent in the collective shines with this theme.
This show has been collaboratively created and choreographed by the The Dance Eclectic members. We are also excited to present our second show ever that is only our collective performing all of the pieces.
