Apr 22-Apr 23, 2023
Chris Sanders has cooked up a rich menu in her new album When the Day Comes and you're invited to enjoy some tasty folk jazz tunes at her release shows at the Black Box Theatre at 7:30pm on Sat., April 22nd and Sun. Apr. 23rd at 2:30pm. Joining her in the Black Box Sonic Kitchen are her Hard Road Trio partner and co-writer Steve Smith on mandolin and octave mandolin, Derrick Lee on drums and Bruno Avitia on bass. This stellar line-up will spice up Chris' soulful singing and guitar playing in an array of original songs that range from poetic jazz to gospel to sweet Joni Mitchell-like stylings.
Very special guest for the first set of the evening (and for exquisite harmonies with Chris) is sublime songstress and songwriter Teresa Tudury. With a deep, sultry voice that magnetizes audiences, and a scathing comedic wit to match, Teresa is a consummate performer who pours out her original songs with power, verve, passion, and disarming humor. Teresa's voice has been described as a cross between Bette Midler and Bonnie Raitt (LA Weekly).
